Our
Requirements for playing at NW Paws at Play -
1) A temperament
assessment is required for all new dogs, to indicate if your dog is a good
candidate for daycare; dogs that are aggressive and bite will not be allowed in
the daycare. The safety of the dogs is our first priority!
2) All dogs must be
current on DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis,
3) Dog must be a
minimum of 4 months of age, at time of enrollment (with 2nd set of vaccinations
completed).
4) No intact animals will be allowed at NW Paws at Play. Puppies are to be spayed or neutered if at 8 months of age, or by a female's first season/heat, whichever comes first.
5) All dogs must be wearing
quick release collars, this is for their safety. No buckled collars,
martingale collars, or choke collars allowed. Please, no harnesses either. Your NW Pooch
must enter the building on a 4 or 6 ft leash; no
retractable leashes allowed. Also, all dogs must have a name tag on
their collar.
6) All dogs must be on
a flea control program to attend NW Paws at Play; if you currently are not on
one, please ask our staff about the products we sell.
7) Dogs must be
non-aggressive with food, people, other dogs, and toys.
Things
to know about attending NW Paws at Play
1) Our hours are
Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. We will charge
fee's for late pickups; $5 for every 10 minutes late (allowing 10 minutes before fees will be assessed). NW Paws at Play is closed on the weekends for
daycare, but available for rental for play groups or other canine gatherings.
2) We will not be
allowing pit bulls or other “bully” breeds at this time; we apologize for any
inconvenience
3) Dogs will be put into 15-20 minute "time-outs" for improper behaviors. Examples being: Excessive humping, being aggressive during play, overly excited, and loud or aggressive growling.
4) Animals will be
separated based on size and/or temperament, according to their assessment and
Member Profile.
5) Please understand
that supervised off-leash socialization and interaction between our members is
encouraged. Owners should know that dogs are unpredictable in behavior, and be
aware of the risks involved in such play;
owners assume all risks.
6) We have 3600 sq ft
interior that is heated in the winter, and several fenced outdoor areas. Your NW Paws member can be indoors or
outdoors having fun!!!
So,
what do you need to do to come and play?
1) Get a copy of our:
owner information form, service contract, and NW Paws Member Profile
questionnaire.
2) Fill out the
required paper work, and drop it off to us BEFORE you bring your playful pooch
in. We need to schedule an assessment
appointment, to see if your four pawed friend is suited for our daycare environment.
3) Bring in proof of
the required vaccinations, and proof of a clean fecal exam.
4) Once we find out if
your NW canine is suited for our daycare environment, and is a good fit for us,
we sign you up and you get to come and play!
